Carbon Emission Optimization in K-12 School Transportation
With the purpose of designing a method for schools to collect, track, and communicate data around school transportation and its impacts on climate/carbon emissions, we created a survey and distributed it to the students and staff at four East Bay private schools. After collecting the data, we analyzed it for general transportation trends, quantified the carbon emissions, and used qualitative data to contextualize our findings in order to generate recommendations for the participating schools.

Amazon Intern Project
Proposed and developed the introduction of environmental impact as a variable in the objective function on Amazon's constrained optimization problem of allocating and distributing products to customers in order to reduce carbon emissions while keeping on par customer satisfaction levels. Grammy's 2021 Prediction
Created a regression model based on the 2020 Grammy Awards in an attempt to predict the 2021 "Best New Artist" winner. Although the election process is carried out through voting, we hypothesized that many awards have a strong correlation with general popularity and chart performance, especially the “Best New Artist” category. These two elements can give valuable insight into the quality of the artist’s music, which is more subjective at these levels. In our model, we included the number of Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Youtube, SoundCloud and Spotify followers together with the number of songs they released the previous year, number of songs hitting peak chart status in the previous year on different platforms and the average rank of songs hitting peak chart status in the previous year.

How Instagram got Swallowed by Facebook
Derived a corrected "price" that Facebook should have acquired Instagram for in today’s dollars and analyzed the choices of both firms at the time the deal happened. Furthermore, evaluated the wider social media market implications of this acquisition, and how it has contributed to the narrowing of the social media industry, and increased barriers to entry. Finally, provided valuable insight on how antitrust policies may develop to fit the increasingly digital nature of our economy.
